If CCP should ever decide to shard, then I propose they let the current population of TQ be as it is now, and never allow the new ppl on TQ :)
As EVE is a niche-game, it won't appeal that much to the playerbase that's more in the mainstream MMO stuff imho...
A lot of WoW players won't be coming here, but we can always expect some in general calling out "WTB TIII Epix PewPew Lazorships" and the like, but accustomed as some of us are to this, we will just be able to ignore those ****ers, and keep on playing with fun...
On another note, this opens a whole new bottle of endless possibilities to YARR...
Imagene this:
You're hovering around a jumpgate, together with some of your piratebuddies, and suddenly, there's this new guy, fresh from installing EVE on his box...
In typical WoW fashion, he jumps you with an invitation to fleet (or in WoW terms: he ninjas you with a group invite)...
True pirate you are, you decide to have some fun with your buddies and your new 'best friend', and decide to go and show him where the best places are to go ratting in 0.0 space.
You dutifully explain him what ratting is, and you let him take the honour of the first kill, while you keep supporting his ships.
Now, as you and your buddies are flying PvP-Kitted T2/3 ships, have lots of SP's and a whole belt of experiance on, you feel generous, and decide to help him with killing, and allow the new player to gather all the loot...
You could maybe even take some time, and let him save up for something bigger than a friggie...
Now, having allowed him the honour of killing and looting rats, you can then propose him to teach the most valuable lesson in all of EVE:
Never trust a stranger 
Lock, scramble, web, and a few seconds of pew pew later (don't forget to salvage too offcourse), and you just had some serious fun at yarring, especially as these new people will be feeling helped and appreciated in this universe :)
You just have to disabuse them of certain visions about the playerbase I guess :)
PS: CCP is a company, and isn't it every company's goal to make profit?
